Update...we bought our first home!

So I thought I would blog since it has been since the 80’s. Seriously, life has been very crazy and blogging sometimes gets the back burner, but I read everything that goes on with all your lives so I thought it would be fair to post about mine. Many of you know that my sister was pregnant and expecting a baby this December but unfortunately Cristal delivered Avabella too early on August 14th and she passed away a couple weeks following on Sunday morning. My sister is my best friend and I had a hard time dealing with the pain but even more so not knowing what to tell her and the pain and suffering her and my brother-in-law have to deal with. My sister moved back from Vegas to Utah so that is a plus for me. I get to see her and my cute nephew, who by the way is a little monster but always fun to listen too. He is certainly a crack up. Listen to him for five minutes he’ll have you busting a gut! On a brighter note, Matt and I just bought a home and this is the second week we have been in it. We bought a beautiful home over in West Jordan on the West side of Bacchus. We love the house and we are very excited to finally have our home. After months of searching I found this home and we fell in love with it on the first day. I guess you just know. The house is a rambler and has three bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs. The basement is not finished yet but is already framed and it will hold another two or three bedrooms and one bathroom and a family room. Matt thinks this will be his “man domain” I think he is crazy!!! LOL Here are some pictures of our home. I have not yet got around to decorating but you can see a few pics.

Starting on our Degrees!

I work at DeVry University and Keller Graduate School of Management. As part of the benefits we get free tuition to go to school for both me and Matt. So here we are getting ready to start our programs. Matt has never been to college before, but has been great at getting everything ready for him to start. He has been taking the assessments and following up with, me, his advisor! Matt will start July 6, 2009 to go to school for an Associate’s degree in Accounting. I am very excited for him! I know he is excited and his dad would be very proud of him.

As for me I am starting my Master’s degree on July 6, 2009 as well. I am excited and nervous. I really would love to pursue a Master’s in Education and probably will still go that route, but you can’t beat free! So, I have decided to do the MBA program with an emphasis in Human Resource Management.
Wish us luck on this new adventure!!!

Graduation Ceremony May 8th.

I officially graduated in December, but I was able to walk with all my friends from school. It made it feel more real! I had an amazing day. My parents had a BBQ for me and we had tons of people over for drinks and food. I am so proud of all my friends.

Manuel P Vigil

I started a new job at the University of DeVry on April 13th. That same week on Wednesday April 15th Matt’s dad passed away. I was getting ready for work and Matt’s mom called and said that there was something wrong with dad and hung up the phone. Matt hurried and left the house to go to his mom’s and I went to work, since it was my first week. I later received a call when I got to work from my sister in law, Monica, telling me that Manuel wasn’t breathing and that I needed to come to the hospital. So I left work, and drove straight over there. My father in law passed away from a massive heart attack. It has been extremely hard on Matt. Each day has gotten better, but I could never imagine losing my parents. I just wanted to tell everyone thanks for all your support and kindness during this time. I feel so bad for Mama Pat, Matt’s mom, she and Manuel were attached at the hip. Anyways, if anything Manuel’s death only brought us closer as a family.

A good day!

Today has been a really good one, work went by fast, I went shopping with Matt to buy our friend Tori and Beth a baby gift, bought Miley some toys and a new collar.
relaxed at my folks and starting reading Twilight.

Matt also got a job. YAH! I plan to go to Wendover...:)Once we start making some mula.

I really love the book Twilight. I started reading it today, I know I am way behind everyone else, but I never have time. If anyone has read it, let me know? How did it compare to the movie? My sister has read them and she tells me about all the books. I am weird like that, most people don't want to know what happens but I just have to know before I spend time reading it. Matt and I lay in bed and listen to my sister tell us about the differnt books. It's like she is my own personal story teller. Matt and I are excited to get the next part of the book tonight and listen to Cristal. As soon as I post this, that is what we plan to do.

On Monday Matt and I bought an excercise bike. We were excited and brought it into the apartment to put it together. We opened the box and there were a million pieces to it. We looked at each other like man it's already 11:00pm and we want to put this together...Anyways, we ended up assembling it that same night. I am proud to say that we did a fine job and that it didn't break when we used it! Atleast it's been fine so far. Who knows?

One more thing, my nephew is so CUTE! he makes me laugh. He wouldn't talk to me the other day, so I told him I would give him a present if he talked to me on the phone. Now every time he talks to me he wants to know when he gets his Iron Man. Kids don't forget things, so make sure you tell them the truth! I plan to buy it this weekend and he should be here in about two weeks. He reminds me daily to buy it!

It's Been Forever!

I know I know you are all probably wondering where and what we have been up to. Well first off, after graduation I started a new job at Maxim Health Care Services as a sales recruiter. The job takes alot of my time. I work 60+ hours a week. Even more sometimes. We are a supplemental health care staffing agency. So since health care professionals are on call 24/7 we have to rotate on call throughout the week and weekends. I am just getting adjusted to the new schedule in my life. I tell you what life after school isn't all sunshine and rainbows. Matt has been laid off from work for the last month and a half and it has been extremely hard on him and us. It's good that he has Miley to keep him busy during the day, and I am not going to lie it makes my life a little easier as he helps feed, clean and play with her while I am at work. But Matt has been applying for jobs all over. The economy is really slow right now. Although,he has had many interviews which is a good thing I hope God helps Matt find one soon.I dont want to complanin to much since we both are able to still pay bills with ease and we both are healthy. We knew marriage would be tough the first year, but it seems like adversity is always thrown are way. I guess what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. I really miss all my friends. Expecially Victoria, Amber and Kilee. Victoria is expecting her first baby, and I can not explain how excited I am! I am so happy for her and Joe. I know they will have the cutest baby ever. I want to wish them all the love and happiness. Amber also got promoted and became a manager at her work, so she has been busy too. Kilee made a semi pro soccer team in Sacramento,CA. All of these new and wonderful things in my friends life and mine makes it hard to stay in touch. I love and miss you all very much and support everything you do.On the topic of friends, I have met some really nice people at my new job. They are all really nice and we all seem to have similar interests. Today was a beautiful day and my sister, Travis and Lino were in town this weekend. We went to the ZOO. I love the ZOO i am one of those people who will be going to the ZOO even into my late years of life. I really love animals and children, they are just the neatest gifts of God's love. At the ZOO we witnessed a turkey pecking the brain of another turkey and it was still alive. It made me so sad, and we called someone to come and help the turkey but it was to late. It really made me cry. I know that this post is all meshed together but I am just typing as thoughts come to me. March 14th is my parents Anniversary. They are in Wendover at a slot machine tournament. My parents are amazing and they are going on 43 years of love and happiness! I have to tell ya, 43 years is a hell of a long time. I am very proud of them both. Oh, by the way I am looking for an indoor soccer team to play with, so if anyone is playing let me know? It is 3:35 AM and I am waiting for the U of U to put their morning shifts in so I can go to bed. I have to write a million other things and post some pics, so I will do that soon. It was my nephews bday and I have some pics to post of that etc.
